ABOUT Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm

History of farm establishment

  • In the year 1959-60, the farm was established with 263.30 acres of land lying beside the Dhaka Aricha highway in Savar.
  • In 1963-64, the farm started with the cultivation of indigenous Sikh including Sindhi, Shahiwal varieties.
  • In 1969, with the help of German Technical Assistance, the infrastructure of the farm and the necessary equipment were collected to start the reproduction process.
  • Currently, the farm continues to function as a national breeding station "Central Go-breeding and Dairy Farm" for the development of cattle breeds in the country with full government management.
  • After transferring to different establishments, the total land area of ​​the farm is 792.87 acres.

The main activities of the farm

  • To produce improved breeding bulls by implementing Superior Bull Kaffe for the development / development of domestic cattle breeds.
